The scheme was approved by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India on 8th April, 2005 as detailed below.

The scheme is to be implemented through Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) namely The Ichalkaranji Textile Development Cluster Limited, a registered company under the companies Act 1956.
